Francis Footwork 180° Virtual Reality - Lime Tree Theatre

Francis Footwork 180° Virtual Reality

Presented by CoisCéim Dance

Once upon a dance floor…
…in a kingdom not so far away, lived Francis Footwork.

Now Francis Footwork is no ordinary girl – she is an extraordinary dancer. When kind-hearted King Two Lefties ascends to the throne, he is tricked by trusted adviser Colonel Headbanger to rule the land with an iron fist. He wants to end all dancing. So Francis teaches him a dance lesson he will never forget!

A magical, marvellous take on dancing to your own tune” **** The Sunday Business Post

SEE, TOUCH, FEEL, DANCE in this 180° virtual reality presentation of FRANCIS FOOTWORK, filmed live at The Ark Children’s Cultural Centre. Footage was captured by the two eyes of a 180º stereoscopic camera in the middle of the theatre’s front row, allowing you to feel like you are in the front row too, watching the performance in 3D with the help of a VR headset.

The show is presented virtually via VR headsets, as part of Dance Limerick‘s What Next Dance Festival.

This gorgeous performance will appeal to children who love music, all sorts of dance, theatre, storytelling and people who are curious about virtual reality technology.

What can children expect:

When children come to the Belltable they will receive a VR headset. They will feel like they are sitting in the front row of the theatre, watching this performance in 3D!  They can move their head and choose where to look, just like you would in a theatre. Everyone is seated in a circle, about a metre from each other, they will receive a sanitised Pico 4k VR headset and CoisCéim’s team will help to ensure it fits comfortably. All they have to do then is have fun!

“JOYFUL, CLEVER, ENTERTAINING, INTRICATE, TECHNICALLY SUPERB and with a heart of goodness, Francis Footwork is a pure and simple delight. – ***** The Irish Times
